Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Animal Production Summary: The present study was carried out at the rabbit production unit, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University. A total number of 27 NZW bucks and 28 mature primiparous does were used. Bucks were randomly divided into three groups (n = 9). First (C), bucks were kept as control (fed ad libitum). 2nd (F1), bucks were fasting for two days/week every other week (Discontinuous regimen). 3rd (F2), bucks were fasting for two days weekly (continuous regimen). No significant effect of fasting regimen on ejaculated volume, seminal pH, litter size at birth (live and still birth), litter weight at birth and total protein, total lipids and glucose of bucks blood serums. Sperm motility increased in the F1 and F2. Sperm concentration, total sperm output, and total motile sperm increased significantly in the F2. Percentages of dead spermatozoa and sperm abnormalities decreased in F2. Reaction time and fertility rate improved in F2
