Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Agricultural Botany
The present investigation was carried out in the wire green - house of agricultural botany Department; Faulty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, during the winter growing season of 2010 / 2011 to study the anatomical features and vascular differentiation and transition of the three leguminous plants; lupinus albus L., Cicer arietinum L. and phaseolus vulgaris L. var. vulgaris. In addition, morphogenesis of compound leaf of lupinus albus L. was intended. The obtained results indicate that the stele of the primary root was diarch with large numbers of primary xylem vessels in lupinus, tetrach with few numbers of xylem vessels in phaseolus and tetrarch with large number of xylem vessels in cicer. Vascular transition started and completed through the basal portion of the root in lupinus, started in the base of the hypocotyl and completed in the upper hypocotyl in phaseolus and started in the basal portion of the root and completed in the uppermost portion of the very short hypocotyl in cicer
