This study is an attempt to investigate the physiological and biochemical roles of serum nitric oxide (NO) as a new risk factor in hyper tensive patients. It is concluded from the results of the present investigation that lower nitric oxide levels were significantly in hypertensive than healthy subjects. On the other hand, serum NO level may play an important role in hyper tension. Nitric oxide (NO) is one of the most important endothelium vasodilator factor which may play a role in pathophysiology or regulation of hypertension
