Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Botany Microbiology
The objective of this study was to maximize the total intracellular alkaloids production by Narcissus tazetta var. italicus callus cultures by optimizing tissue culture conditions using fungal elicitors. Seven and six species belong to four genera were isolated from both rhizosphere and bulbs of N. tazetta var. italicus, respectively. A. niger, A. ochraceus, A. oryzae, F. oxysporum, F. sporotrichioides, P. chrysogenum and T. viride were isolated from rhizosphere. On the other hand, A. flavus, A. niger, F. oxysporum, F. semitectum, P. chrysogenum and T. viride were isolated from bulbs. Explants derived from bulbs and leaves of N. tazetta var. italicus were cultured on MS medium supplemented with different combinations and concentrations of plant growth regulators
