Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anatomy Summary: Cisplatin is considered one of the most effective drugs in treating testicular cancer as it leads to more than 90% cure rate. However, its use could be limited due to its reproductive toxicity. The present study was performed to investigate the histological and morphometric adverse changes of the testis in adult albino rats following cisplatin administration and to find out the possible protective role of vitamin E against such changes. The present study was carried out on forty adult male albino rats. They were divided into four equal groups as follows: Group I (normal control) which received nothing, Group II (sham control) which received saline and olive oil, Group III (cisplatin- treated) the rats were given 10 mg/kg body weight cisplatin as a single dose via intra - peritoneal injection and Group IV (vitamin E and cisplatin - treated) the rats were given 10 mg/kg body weight cisplatin as a single dose via intra-peritoneal injection with simultaneous administration of 200 mg/kg body weight vitamin E orally via gastric gavage daily for five consecutive days
