Tretinoin is regarded as one of the most effective drugs in fighting mild and moderate acne vulgaris due to inhibition of formation of micro - comedons and reduction of non - inflammatory and inflammatory lesions. The aim of the work in this study is to incorporate tretinoin in different vesicular formulations (liposomes and proniosomes) to obtain the optimized formula to overcome the disadvantages of traditional formulations of tretinoin of being irritant and to increase penetration of tretinoin to upper skin layers in order to improve its therapeutic effect and patient compliance. Vesicular system also protects tretinoin from photodegradation
