Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver. The most common hepatitis viruses are types A, B, and C. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) related liver disease is a common and clinically significant condition. It is considered to be one of the most common chronic viral infections worldwide. The prevalence of HCV infection varies across the world, with the highest number of infections reported in Egypt. The current standard of care therapy for chronic HCV infection consists of a combination of pegylated (PEG) interferon (IFN - Ü 2a) and ribavirin. In some cases the treatment with INF (IFN-Ü 2a) and ribavirin failed and the case become relapse so we need new markers to predict the response to treatment. In our study we have interkeukine 12 (IL - 12), Fas and Fas ligand markers as predictors for IFN response
