Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Family Medicine Summary: The of objective of the study to determine the consequences of FGC among a group of Egyptian females. The study was carried out on 130 married females attending the family health outpatient clinic in Kfr Elgbl family health unit at Elharam. The participants were divided into 2 groups. females who had undergone FGC (no. = 65) and control group, females who hadn't undergone FGC ( no. = 65). A patient health questionnaire was used with a sensitivity of 75% and specificity 90%. Data was collected ,revised and entered using the statistical package SPSS version 15. It was found that the mean age for Females who had undergone FGC was 31.9 + 9.8 years while for controls it was 29.3 ± 8.7 years
