Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communications
In this thesis, we {uFB01}rstly consider the problem of probabilistic, and decentral- ized clustering for CRSN by introducing a spectrum - aware, energy - e{uFB03}cient, and decentralized clustering protocol for CRSNs. Secondly, we consider the problem of the optimal spectrum assignment for a single - cluster CRSN under area coverage constraint by formulating a power minimization optimization problem that aims to minimize the total transmit power given interference, minimum data rate, power budget, and coverage constraints. Thirdly, we investigate the joint optimization of clustering and spectrum assignment for a CRSN with multiple clusters. This problem is considered as an extension to the single - cluster spectrum assignment problem. Several algorithms with di{uFB00}erent signaling and computational complexities are proposed. Intensive simulations are carried out to investigate performance gains and trade-o{uFB00}s between the proposed algorithms
