Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: This research introduces a priority index model which helps in ranking the water mains due to its severity condition. The proposed model aims in the water mains rehabilitation management. The proposed model was integrated with the GIS technology in order to enhance water mains rehabilitation management by visualizing the water mains severity condition. The research provided an expert system for selecting the appropriate rehabilitation technology. The research presented the development of the budgeted allocation model which helps in distributing the fund on water mains rehabilitation projects. Finally, the research introduced the inspection technology selection model to help in selecting the appropriate technology for monitoring the water distribution system. The research gathered the key factors that can contribute in developing the previous model from literature and by making interviews with experts in the field of water distribution system. The research used the Simos{u2019} procedure to weigh factors of each model. The research used the weighted scoring factors model to develop the previous models
