Family Rutaceae is widely distributed in warm areas as in South Eastern Asia, Pacific Islands, North Africa, Europe and North America. The family is consisting mainly of trees or shrubs and a very small proportion of herbs, all of which flourish in the tropics and sub-tropics. It belongs to the order Sapindales and has an ancient name known as rue family, the Rutaceae includes about 160 genera and 1,700 species distributed throughout the world. The Rutaceae is related to many of the Geranium group, especially to Simarubaceae, Zygophyllaceae and Meliaceae. Members of this family are generally easy to identify as the trees have alternate, trifoliate, palmate or pinnate leaves with secretary cavities in the lamina. Development of oil glands containing fragrant oil is one of the most characteristic features of this family
