Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Summary: Background : Post-traumatic cubitus varus deformity is the most common late complication of a supracondylar fracture or a physeal fracture of the distal humerus. The cosmetic nature of the deformity is the most common reason for seeking surgical correction. The lateral closing wedge osteotomy has been described most frequently for the correction of this unsightly deformity. It is considered the most popular and possibly the simplest method of correction that often produces gratifying results. However, the lateral closing wedge osteotomy can occasionally produce a pseudo cubitus varus deformity due to a prominent lateral condyle after correction
