Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Neurosurgery
Traumatic intracerebral hematoma is very common disorder in clinical practice. Intracerebral hemorrhage is defined as hemorrhage within the brain parenchyma. Traumatic intracerebral hematoma occurs in up to 15% of patients following head injury. Overall, trauma is the most common cause of intracerebral hemorrhage. The aim of this study is to describe different options of management of traumatic intracerebral haematoma and the outcome of patients with traumatic intracerebral haematoma presented to emergency department in Cairo University. This may help us gain further insight into its management and thus improve the care given to our patients. This is a prospective study on 15 patients, all with traumatic intracerebral hematomas. All data regarding these patients were collected, including age, sex, medical history, clinical presentation, radiological findings and prognosis
