Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Ophthalmology Summary: Blunt ocular trauma may have a threatening effect on vision; clinical examination is the corner stone in evaluation, however using non invasive technologies as AS-OCT offers more information in cases with hazy media and allows detection of subclinical findings for early management and better prognosis. In the current study 20 eyes of 20 patients suffering from blunt ocular trauma were studied clinically for anterior segment changes, with the aim of correlating these findings with AS-OCT findings. All patients were examined at the time of presentation and after 3 months for BCVA and slit lamp examination. IOP was measured using Goldman applanation tonometry, gonioscopy was done using Goldman 3 mirror goniolens, dilated fundus examination and assessment of the anterior segment structures by a Fourier-domain AS-OCT (Optovue, Inc. Fremont, CA) were also done
