Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Pediatrics Summary: This study was done to evaluate vitamin D state in children with ESRD & on regular HD in relation to some cardiac effects. This Case-Control study that has included 51 children with ESRD on regular HD along with 33 healthy children showed that altered 25 OHD signaling has been implicated in the progression of LVH in CKD. The study also highlighted a significant interaction between 25OHD & hypertension in determining LVH
