In the present study, the effect of chromium (Cr) and silicon (Si) additions on microstructure, wear resistance and mechanical properties of the (NAB) alloy was investigated. The microstructures of as cast alloys were examined by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that Cr and Si modified the kappa phases (m) and crystallized it as the complex silicides rich in iron, chromium and silicon. The mechanical properties were determined by hardness, tensile, impact and wear tests. The microhardness of Ü and m phases was also measured. A good combination of ultimate tensile strength , elongation , and impact toughness was obtained by means of chromium addition of 0.2 wt% and silicon addition of 0.5 wt%
