Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Different analytical methods for the determination of some drugs used in the treatment of mycosis, in laboratory prepared mixtures and dosage forms have been introduced in this thesis. These drugs are ciclopirox olamine, miconazole nitrate, terconazole and tioconazole. Chromatographic part includes simultaneous determination of ciclopirox olamine and benzyl alcohol in laboratory prepared mixtures and creams using HPLC, simultaneous determination of miconazole nitrate and hydrocortisone actate in laboratory prepared mixtures and creams using HPLC, simultaneous determination of miconazole nitrate and mometasone furoate in laboratory prepared mixtures and creams using HPLC, simultaneous determination of terconazole and benzoic acid in laboratory prepared mixtures and creams using HPLC, simultaneous determination of tioconazole and benzyl alcohol in laboratory prepared mixtures and creams using HPLC with forced degradation study of tioconazole using HPLC. Spectroscopic part includes the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of two binary mixtures; namely terconazole - benzoic acid and tioconazole - benzyl alcohol using CLS, PCR and PLS chemometric methods
