Background, early pregnancy is often marked with many complaints, the most troublesome being nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Aim was to assess the effect of acupressure wristband on reducing the symptoms of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Design, a quasi experimental design. Setting was antenatal clinic at El Manial Maternity Hospital- Cairo University. Sample, a simple random sample of 200 pregnant women were recruited for this research according to the following criteria: age not exceed 35 years old, singleton pregnancy; not exceeding gravida 4, suffer from nausea and vomiting , free from medical disorder, gestational age 4th weeks gestation. Tools, data were collected by applying two tools developed by the researcher the first was structured interview and the second was nausea and vomiting assessment and follow up. Results indicated that, no statistically significant differences between both groups were found in relation to Personal characteristics. The age range was 18-35 years old in both groups with mean of 25.46±4.79 years in the acupressure wristband group and 25.18±4.83 years in the antiemetic drugs group. Less than one fourth of pregnant women in both groups can read and write. More than one third of pregnant women in both groups had appropriate normal body mass index. Regarding to severity of nausea and vomiting results indicated that, no statistically significant differences between both groups were found at base line and throughout follow up. After 4th and 8th week from applying acupressure wristband and using antiemetic drugs there were marked reduction in the severity of nausea and vomiting compared to base line assessmenttrimester of pregnancy
