Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Power Engineering Summary: The present work fosters mathematical modeling techniques to primarily determine the thermal patterns characteristics and the contaminant concentrations distributions in the airborne infection isolation room. The present work also investigates the effect of the various designs of airborne infection isolation room and operational parameters on the flow pattern, the temperature characteristics and the contaminant concentrations distributions. The main scope of this work is to studying seven different design configurations of isolation room HVAC systems have been compared numerically to assess their agreement with international standards of isolation room ventilation and airflow pattern requirements
