Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of E.N.T Summary: Young children who experience severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) face challenges in developing spoken language . The aim of this study is to examine the influence of age at implantation on children's language development to detect whether early intervention with cochlear implantation in children with severe to profound SNHL results in better linguistic outcomes. The sample of this study included 60 children with cochlear implant, their ages at time of the study ranged between (2-7) years .This sample was divided into two groups: group "I " include 30 children who had received their Cochlear implant before 5 years and their ages at operation ranged between 2 to 4y and 11 months and group" II" included 30 children who had received their cochlear implant after 5 years of age and their ages at operation ranged between 5 to 7 years old
