Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: Drinking water requires a residual amount of chlorine to ensure its microbiological stability during transportation throughout the water distribution system. Therefore, the present research aims to study the effect of some factors on chlorine residual and find a relationship between them by using WaterCAD program. The objective is to maintain the chlorine residual in permissible limit according to Egyptian standards to prevent microbial regrowth and provide continual protection throughout water distribution system from the treatment plant to the consumer
