Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Growth and Development Disorders in Pediatrics Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate balance changes in spastic diaplegic children following participation in a program of therapeutic exercises including mechanical vestibular stimulation. Subject: Thirty children, aged 5 to 8 years participated in this study. They were classified into two groups of equal number 15 patients each. Method: The control group received 1 hour and 15 minutes of selected physical therapy program for such cases, while the study group received 1 hour of selected physical therapy program and 15 minutes of mechanical vestibular stimulation using vestibulator/ swing system. Balance was assessed before and after application of 12 weeks of treatment in the two groups using the Biodex balance system
