Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anesthesia Summary: Diastolic dysfunction pathogenesis gave rise to an increase in Left Ventricular Filling Pressure (LVFP) due to decreased Left Ventricular (LV) compliance; this is reflected on an increase in transmitral E wave to the tissue Doppler early mitral annulus velocity (E/e{u2019}) ratio and serum B-type Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) levels. In the current study we aimed to assess the correlation between E/e{u2019} ratio and serum BNP level, their association with diastolic dysfunction and their usefulness to predict postoperative complications in patients candidate for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery
