Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: This research is based on a comparative study, which aims to examine various structural design methods for flexible pavements, currently used in road practices, and to identify the parameters that significantly influence their sensitivity. The three most commonly used methods of pavement design were found to be AASHTO, asphalt Institute, and PCASE (Paver). To achieve the objectives of this study, a brief summary for each of the three methods was discussed, taking into consideration the development of the design procedures of each method, design charts, and design equations to compare easily between the three methods. The analysis was done through varying the input parameters and measuring the change in the output of each method
