Among the Egyptian population, Few studies had demonstrated the local/institutional incidence as well as the correlation of age, performance status ,loss of weight and radiation therapy to exocrine pancreatic tumors. In our retrospective analysis, data from 161 patients with exocrine pancreatic tumors presented to Kasr Al Ainy center of clinical oncology(NEMROCK),Cairo university ,Egypt in the period between January 2005 to December 2013 ,with 106 patients evaluable for survival analysis with studying the different epidemiological ,clinical ,diagnostic methods as well as evaluation of different treatment modalities as regard response rates ,progression free, median and overall survival data as the primary outcome. In our institution exocrine pancreatic tumors constitutes 2.1% of all cases through the study period, with about thirty four percentage (34.2%) were below 50 years ,patients presented with poor performance status at presentation (III-IV) on ECOG scale had a decimal survival outcome ,with a median survival of 7 month versus a median survival of 25 month in patients with a more favorable performance status(P=0.038), while patients presented with loss of weight had an inferior median survival also of 7 month in comparison to 25 month in patients who did not had this clinical manifestation at presentation(P=0.034).Patients received local radiation therapy had a survival advantage with a median survival of 56 month versus 11 month for patients who do not receive that treatment modality(P=0.014).A considerable percentage of our patients presented at a younger age ,with a survival advantage for radiation therapy and a decimal survival outcome for loss of weight and poor performance status
