Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Pedodontics Summary: The aim of this study was evaluation of parent's attitude, knowledge and practices towards their children's oral and dental health. This was done according to HU - DBI questionnaire. This study was carried out on 1000 parents and their children attending a governmental center seeking for dental treatment (Eldarassa family health center), the children's age was ranged between 6 - 12 years old using diagnostic chart was designed by the authors includes: socioeconomic data: (HU - DBI) questionnaire, clinical examination for children OHI - S, DMF and def). There was significant difference noted between HU - DBI questionnaire score of the parents OHI - S, DMF and def scores of the children but there was no correlation found between them. The dental health education programs for parents should be developed utilizing importance of the primary teeth and time of the first dental visit
