This work has been carried out to investigate synthetic potential of the versatile multifunctional, bis-symmetric scaffolds such as bis(acetophenones), bis(aldehydes), bis(}- bromoacetphenones) and bis(chalcones). The utility of these building blocks for the synthesis of a variety of novel bis(heterocycles) such as bis(triazolothiadiazines), bis(quinoxalines), bis(thiazoles), bis(thiadiazoles), bis(oxadiazoles), bis(dihydropyrazoles), bis(dihydropyrimidines) and bis(dihydroisoxazole) has been investigated.
