Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: This work has been carried out to investigate synthetic potential of the versatile multifunctional, bis-symmetric scaffolds such as bis(acetophenones), bis(aldehydes), bis(}- bromoacetphenones) and bis(chalcones). The utility of these building blocks for the synthesis of a variety of novel bis(heterocycles) such as bis(triazolothiadiazines), bis(quinoxalines), bis(thiazoles), bis(thiadiazoles), bis(oxadiazoles), bis(dihydropyrazoles), bis(dihydropyrimidines) and bis(dihydroisoxazole) has been investigated.

This work has been carried out to investigate synthetic potential of the versatile multifunctional, bis-symmetric scaffolds such as bis(acetophenones), bis(aldehydes), bis(}- bromoacetphenones) and bis(chalcones).
