The present study investigated the relationship between the genetic polymorphisms of Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and Matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3) genes in Coronary artery disease (CAD).ACE (I/D) and MMP3 (5A/6A) polymorphism was detected using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The frequencies of D/D, I/D, and I/I genotypes in CAD compared to control group were significantly different (P=<0.05), and the frequencies of 6A/6A, 5A/5A, and 5A/6A genotypes in CAD compared to control group were significantly different (P=<0.05). The D/D polymorphism of the ACE gene and 5A/6A polymorphism of the MMP3 gene is strongly associated with Coronary artery diseases (CAD) in the Egyptian population
