A representative coal sample from El-Maghara deposit, north east Sinai, Egypt was subjected to complete characterization including mineralogical, chemical, and grindability measures. Desulphurization of the coal sample was studied using gravity technique including jigging and enhanced centrifugal gravity technique using the Falcon Concentrator, and magnetic separation technique using 2Boxmag Rapid3 WHGMS. Optimization of each process was studied using the Box-Behnken Design of experiments. The optimum test conditions for each operation were extracted from the Design-Expert 6.0 software. Results showed that promising desulfurization could be obtained by applying the Falcon Concentrator, where a clean coal product assayed 1.73% total sulfur and 0.47% inorganic (pyritic) sulfur with 98.80% wt and inorganic sulfur separation efficiency 70.91% from a feed assayed 2.90% total sulfur and 1.70% inorganic (pyritic) sulfur at the optimum conditions: backwater pressure 4.00 psi, and rotation frequency 78.38 Hz
