A new hydraulic accumulator called dynamic accumulator is presented in this thesis. It has been suggested to work at wide range of mean operating pressures. The dynamic response of the accumulator structure enhances the dependence of the stored volume on the dynamic periodic variation of the load rather than its dependency on the static load variation. This study shows the feasibility of the accumulator in suppressing pulsations in hydraulic lines when the natural frequency of the accumulator is tuned to the pulsations' frequency. Complete formulae for the stresses and the deflection developed are obtained, hence the accumulator's stiffness and the swept volume Equations have been derived analytically and verified by finite elements. These Equations could be used in sizing the accumulator for the required application and working conditions
