Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Economics and Political Science - Department of Economics Summary: The study aims primarily at investigating the determinants of export diversification in Egypt. Then it explains its determinants according to theoretical literature and empirical studies. Applying time series econometric techniques of co-integration, VECM and VAR over the period 1974-2010 indicates that the long run determinants of export diversification in Egypt are domestic investment, FDI and trade openness, where domestic investment and FDI increase export diversification and trade openness increases concentration. The short run determinants include FDI and real exchange rate, where both of them increase export concentration in the short run. Relevant policy recommendations are then drawn
