Egypt has possibly the highest HCV prevalence worldwide. Viral hepatitis during pregnancy is associated with high risk of maternal complications. Perinatal transmission from mother to offspring is relatively low but possible (less than 10%). Our work is a cross-sectional study depending on the screening of blood samples withdrawn from (500) pregnant women in labor coming to deliver in the casualty department in Kasr Al-Aini university hospital
