The parameters of the study are: percent of replacing ordinary coarse aggregate with Styrofoam; water/cement ratio; percent of silica fume; and cement content. Strength development, compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and bond strength for different mixes with different parameters are investigated in order to assess light weight mixes with a relative high strength. It was found that a compressive strength of 25MPa can be achieved
