In this thesis, A wide-band PLL-based frequency sysnthesizer with multiphase generation is proposed for manpack wireless transceiver systems. Amodified multi-phase integer-N Pll architecture is proposed to generate the local oscillator (LO) signals in the band from 60 MHz to 1020 MHz with frequency spacing equal to 60 MHz. A methodology to optimize the frequency planning for the voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) will be presented to accurately choose the most optimized tuning range of the implemented VCOs
