The objective of this research is to provide insight on the behavior of encased composite column with cold-formed sections as it is not well-defined in many design codes. This experimental study addresses issues related to load-deformation, strength, and constructability. Three different types of columns were tested under monotonic axial compression till failure. The column{u2019}s types were: cold-formed sections, reinforced concrete and composite encased type. The first two types were tested to provide benchmarking to compare to the composite samples. The third types are divided into four types as follow: cold-formed lipped-C steel section encased by Concrete. cold-formed lipped-C steel section with holes encased by concrete. cold-formed lipped-C steel section surrounded by wire-mesh encased by concrete.cold formed lipped-C steel section surrounded by longitudinal reinforcement and transverse ties encased by concrete. The main parameter studied in the composite columns was how to make the optimum compatibility between the cold-formed section and the concrete in the composite column using four different methods
