For sustainable urban spaces to be friendly to the environment, the most important element must be reviewed by the design of these spaces is the choice of materials used so that they are materials to achieve sustainable environment. The current study aims to examine the role of materials and their applications at the urban landscape level and it discusses general environmental and human health impacts of materials for evaluating sourcing and specifying sustainable materials and their energy which resulting from construction, maintenance and recycling
