Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Design and Production Summary: Motivated by the potential of introducing angular bearing - to - rotor misalignment in fluid film bearings to delay the onset of oil instabilities, a computer code has been developed to further investigate the phenomenon. Reynolds equation has been numerically solved using the finite element Method (FEM) for bearings with relative bearing - to - rotor misalignment. The output is the 32 augmented dynamic coefficients necessary to predict the dynamic behavior of such rotor bearings systems
