Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Architectural Engineering
The research thesis targets to demonstrate the main six types of lightweight building systems (drywall, custom - made walls, polystyrene, metal sheet, modular and precast buildings). The study focuses on the architectural definition, system types, system solutions, engineering performance, installation techniques and environment aspects of lightweight building systems. In the practical part, value engineering theories evaluate four case studies that have been constructed by light weight building systems. The evaluation studies presented the weak and strong performance of each project according to the architecture Image, engineering performance, operation requirements and resources
