Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Plant Pathologyand Physiology Summary: Forty three isolates of Rhizoctonia solani Kühn were isolated from all surveyed Egyptian Governorates from various infected potato plant parts during different plantations, beside to ten imported isolates from different varieties at many countries. The highest percentage of disease infection was recorded at Behera Governorate, while the lowest infection was recorded at Minea Governorate. On the other hand, the highest percentage of disease infection was noticed on stems while the lowest percentage of disease infection was noticed on sprout. The highest percentage of disease infection was in winter season, while the lowest was in nili season. The highest percentage of disease infection at pathogenicity test was recorded for isolate No. 20, while the lowest infection were recorded for isolates (Nos. 9,13,17, 29, 31, 33, 36 and 38. Imported isolates No.46 and 51 were the aggressive ones
