Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: This study was carried out aiming to evaluate the microtensile bond strength of translucent zirconia bonded to resin cement after different surface treatment. In this study a total twenty bar samples were constructed by cutting CAD\CAM zirconia blocks (Incoris TZI, Sirona). The samples were divided according to surface treatment into four groups. Each group was composed of five bars as follows: Group I (APS 50 {uF06D}m): contained five samples subjected to alumina blasting with 50 om particle size at a pressure of 2 Bar. Group II (LPS 30 {uF06D}m): contained five samples subjected to alumina blasting with 30 om particle size at a pressure of 0.7 Bar. Group III (SIE): contained five samples subjected to selective infiltration etching. Group IV (FS): contained five samples subjected to fusion sputtering. All sample groups were bonded to composite resin bars using Rely X ultimate resin cement, the bilayered zirconia \resin specimen were cut into microbars (1x1x6 mm²). For quantitative evaluation of surface roughness, all samples were subjected to profilemetric measurements. While for qualitative assessment of the surface topography SEM evaluation was carried out for selected bars from the different groups and microbars after cementation
