Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Clinical and Chemical Pathology Summary: The current study aimed at defining the role of interleukin 17A(G197A) and interleukin 17F (A7488G) genetic polymorphisms as risk factors for AML in Egypt. The present study included 100 patients and 100 controls. Genotyping for the genes was done by PCR- RFLP technique. The study revealed that interleukin 17F polymorphic genotypes (AG/GG) were statistically significantly lower in cases than control. Interleukin 17A gene polymorphisms did not confer increased risk for acute myeloid leukemia
