Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: This work has been carried out to prepare dialkyl maleate 2DAM3 and their conversion into dialkyl fumarate 2DAF3 isomers, followed by copolymerization of each monomer with vinyl acetate to obtain eight copolymers of dialkyl maleate-vinyl acetate 2DAM-VA3 and dialkyl fumarate-vinyl acetate 2DAF- VA3. Extraction and grinding of asphaltene from crude oil, to obtain asphaltene nanoparticles (ANPs). Finally all of these constituents are characterized, and then evaluated as pour point depressants (PPDs) for gas oil.
