Summary: Old educational buildings represent a large section of the total building heritage that should be preserved and protected against deterioration. For both the well-fare, comfort of the occupants and the energy performance of the building; old buildings should not be neglected but retrofitted and renovated to increase their- built value.This thesis is oriented to examine different scenarios for facade upgrading in the building using energy simulation modeling and drawing up on the learned issues from analysis of existing cases. Energy software {u2013} Ecotect {u2013} is utilized in the case study building to evaluate selected facade solution alternatives as different retrofit schemes are explored. The façade retrofit of existing educational buildings in Egypt is highlighted as one of the main reasons behind enhancing the building performance of old buildings. Modifications to upgrade components and elements in the façade allow reaching different alternatives and guidelines for involved parties to consider
