Theoretical study on unsymmetrical arrangement in plan of reinforced concrete shear walls for braced and unbraced buildings / Sondos Ebrahim Abdelrasol Mahmoud ; Supervised Bahra Mohamed Saeed , Nabawe Hamed Ghareeb

By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Publication details: Cairo : Sondos Ebrahim Abdelrasol Mahmoud , 2015Description: 144 P. ; 30cmOther title:
  • دراسة نظرية للتوزيع الغير متماثل فى المسقط الأفقى لحوائط القص الخرسانية للمبانى المقيدة و الغير مقيدة [Added title page title]
Subject(s): Online resources: Available additional physical forms:
  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: The main objective of this research is to study theoretically using linear finite element package SAP (2000), the sensitive of moving shear wall away from the symmetrical axes in plan, and comparing the results with the symmetric model. The comparison between symmetric model and unsymmetrical models investigate which place can be moved shear wall and doesn't affect on design. The buildings are under seismic loads and vertical loads. The comparison is based on the stresses and steel reinforcement demanded for studied columns
