Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Institute of Statistical Studies and Research - Department of Mathematical Statistics
The joint censoring scheme is of practical significance while conducting comparative life tests of products from different units with in the same facility. In this thesis, maximum likelihood and Bayesian estimators (squared error (SE) loss function-linear exponential (LINEX) loss function) have been obtained for two generalized exponential populations under joint type-II censored scheme, which generalize results of balakrishnan and rasouli (2008) and shafay et al. (2013). Moreover, approximate confidence region are also discussed and compared with two bootstrap confidence regions. Also, we considered MLEs for k independent weibull populations under joint type-II censored scheme, the asymptotic variance covariance matrix and approximate confidence region based on the asymptotic normality of the MLEs have been obtained and compared with two bootstrap confidence regions. As a special case, two Weibull populations under joint type-II censored scheme
