Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Operative Dentistry Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the micro - shear bond strength of two dual cure adhesive systems (futurabond DC and Futurabond U) versus one light cure adhesive system (solobond M) to enamel and dentin after storage for twenty four hours and one month. A total number of 120 teeth were used. The roots of each tooth were removed. For enamel specimens, cusps were ground up to 1 mm to produce flat surface using 600-grit silicon carbide paper under running water. While for dentin specimens, the occlusal enamel was removed and the dentin surface was ground flat until the distance between dentin surface and the highest pulp horn was 1 mm. Half of the specimens were stored in artificial saliva for 24 hours and the other half stored for one month then the microshear bond strength was determined in a universal testing machine. For enamel specimens, the 24 hrs period, futurabond U scored the highest value followed by solobond M then Futurabond DC with significant difference. Same as for 1 month period (but with decreased value) where futurabond U scored the highest value followed by solobond M then futurabond DC with significant difference. While for dentin specimens, the 24 hrs period, futurabond DC scored the highest value followed by futurabond U then solobond M with significant difference. Same as for 1 month period (but with decreased value) where futurabond DC scored the highest value followed by futurabond U then solobond M with significant difference
