Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Pedodontics Summary: This study was conducted to evaluate the utilization of behavior management techniques among general practitioners and specialized dentists for child dental patients during treatment. A questionnaire was distributed to a sample of dentists working across Egypt (n = 500); these included general dental practitioners and specialized dentist. Both categories were randomly selected. A covering letter describing the project and request for cooperation was issued from the pediatric dentistry and dental public health department. Faculty of oral and dental Medicine, Cairo university. These permits were titled to the targeted National health service hospitals and private dental hospitals and clinics. Categories of the questionnaire included biographic information (name, working location, type of practice, post graduate degree ),whether participants used BMT during treatment of children (never, sometimes or always), types of behavioral management techniques used to treat children( normal conversation, tell show do, voice control, hand over mouth, distraction, physical restraint, parental separation, general anesthesia) and changes in the utilization pattern of the behavior management techniques over the last years
