Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Periodontology
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of platelet rich fibrin in enhancement of soft tissue profile and thickness around immediate dental implant in the esthetic zone as compared to autogenous connective tissue graft. The purpose of the present study was to assess the width and thickness of the attached gingiva around immediate dental implants in esthetic zone through two groups: Sixteen sites were divided into two groups; each of eight. Each patient received one implant in the esthetic zone except two cases where each received two implants. Eight sites were treated using autogenous connective tissue graft and act as positive control (group {u2160}), while the other eight sites were treated with PRF around dental implant and act as the test group (group {u2161}). In SCTG group the highest gingival thickness was after one month post operatively compared to pre operative thickness. In the follow up a minimal reduction was noted three months post operatively compared to one month. After three months there was a plateau where insignificant change in the thickness of the gingiva was reported compared to six months post operatively
