Diabetes is accompanied by abnormal lipid metabolism, and changes in blood lipid and lipoprotein are the important causes of diabetics associated with atherosclerosis. The common conditions coexisting with type 2 diabetes is dyslipidemia which clear risk factors for CVD. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of electrical stimulation on acupuncture points on HbA1c and lipid profile on type 2 diabetic women. Forty type 2 diabetic women participated in the study, their ages ranged from 50 - 60 years were selected from Fayoum university Hospital in Elfayoum Egypt. They were divided randomly into two equal groups. Group (A) received (Acu - TENS) on bilateral ST36, LI11 and LV3 acupoints with frequency 10HZ and intensity 5 m A for 20 - 30 min for 12 weeks, 3sessions per weeks in addition to traditional medical treatment, range of diabetes duration 5 - 10 years without compications, their BMI is from 30 - 34.9 kg/m2,. Group (B) received their medical treatment only. Pre and post 12 weeks, HbA1c and lipid profile levels were measured. Statistical analysis revealed a significant improvement in HbA1c. It decreased by 17.44%, TG decreased by 5.7%, LDL decreased by 5.76%, HDL increased by 44.63%. It was concluded that electrical stimulation on acupuncture points improve HbA1c and lipid profile in type 2 diabetic women help in decreasing cardiovascular risk factors
