Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Physical Therapy for Cardiopulmonary and Geriatrics Disorders Summary: To investigate the effect of vegetarian diet versus aerobic exercise on type 2 diabetic patients. 40 patients who had type 2 diabetes mellitus were assigned randomly into two equal in number groups their age ranged from 40 to 50 years old. Group (A): 20 participants (10 men{u2019}s and 10 women{u2019}s) who had received aerobic exercise for 12 weeks. Group (B): 20 participants (10 men{u2019}s and 10 women{u2019}s) who had vegetarian diet for 12 weeks. They were selected patients from Kom Hamada central hospital outpatient diabetes clinic. Al-Behira. Statistical significance improvement in fasting, post prandial, random blood glucose levels and HBA1C in both groups in favor of group (A).Fasting glucose showed a statistical significant decrease after the program in group (A) after 12 weeks with 32.41% of improvement, but in group (B) there was 14.95% only of improvement. Post prandial glucose showed a statistical significance decrease in favor of group (A) with 18.75% of improvement and 7.60% of improvement in group (B). Random blood glucose revealed statistical significance decrease in group (A) with 13.41% of improvement and 5.93% of improvement in group (B).HBA1C revealed statistical significance decrease in group (A) with 10.93% of improvement and 4.87% of improvement in group (B). It was concluded that 12 weeks of Aerobic exercise had significant improvement on blood glucose levels of type 2 diabetic patient{u2019}s more than vegetarian diet
